Role of inductance

Inductor is a component that can convert electrical energy into magnetic energy and store it. The structure of the inductor is similar to the transformer, but only has one winding. The inductor has a certain inductance, which only hinders the change of current. If the inductor passes without a current, it will try to block the current when the circuit is turned on; if the inductor passes through with a current, it will try to keep the current constant when the circuit is disconnected. Inductor is also called choke, reactor, dynamic reactor.

Main role of inductors

In the circuit, the inductor mainly acts as filter, oscillation, delay, notch, filter signal, filter noise, stabilize current and suppress electromagnetic wave interference. The most common role of inductor is to form a LC filter circuit with a capacitor  in the circuit. Capacitors have the characteristics of "resistance DC, pass AC ", while inductors have the function of" pass DC, resistance AC "function. If the DC with many interference signals pass through the LC filter circuit, the AC interference signal will be consumed by the inductance into heat energy, and when the pure DC current passes through the inductance, The AC interference signal is also changed into magnetic inductance and heat energy, and the higher frequency is the most easily impedance.
